After a loss, it’s common for contractors to show up offering to handle everything in exchange for your insurance payout. They may even offer to “cover” your deductible or present other tempting incentives.
Be polite but firm. Let them know you’re working with a public adjuster to determine the full value of your claim first. If they continue to push, simply decline and close the door.
Also note: while your insurance agent may care deeply about your situation, they are not involved in the claims process. Your adjuster and the insurance company's claims department will handle the next steps.
Your questions are always welcome.
